Does my reptilian brain have scales?

Picture
The reptilian brain,  the part of our brain that blood is directed to when our flight or fight mechanism is switched on.  Stress turns this on.  How many of you are stressed?  Did you know that when this particular part of the brain is made master that we are less intelligent? That logical analytical thought is suppressed?  So your interactions with people become more reactionary, based on reflex rather than with compassion and empathy.  Look around you today, in the office who is the snappiest, most unpleasant person to be around?  I bet they are the people who are most stressed.  When i was reminded of this little factoid, I had to think about all of the unrest, the wars and conflicts in the world, our country, our government, my town.  The decisions that are made for me, in the form of laws and legislation.  Are the people who are responsible for these things calm, healthy and therefore rational people?  How about the people around you, are they caring and empathetic or wound so tight they snap at you constantly. Do they ask you how your day went and pay attention to how you respond,  or do they jump on you for no reason.  Along with this refocusing of blood delivery in the brain the body also moves blood flow from the digestive and immune function of the body to the extremities.  slowing digestion and halting immune function.  How many hours do most of us stay stressed?  How many of us are sick?
Think about it, then start checking yourself daily for chill, scaly skin...
